Tucker Carlson is in the process of raising funds for a new media venture, according to a report by Puck News.
Dylan Byers of Puck News suggested, “It’s increasingly possible that the Twitter show is a top-of-funnel play for other things Tucker may soon have cooking,” indicating that Carlson is gearing up for a bigger initiative. A significant majority of his former Fox News team is expected to join him in this venture.
Byers added that, if executed skillfully, Carlson’s new project could “serve as a paradigm for a generation of TV news personalities with huge followings and fandoms who remain marooned to their desks amid shrinking audiences.”
This news comes after Fox News dismissed the remaining members of Carlson’s team, a move that a former Fox News producer labeled as “shockingly callous.”
The network ended its relationship with Carlson, its top-rated host, in late April, leading to a legal confrontation as Fox News accused him of breaching a non-compete clause in his contract. Fox News has issued a “cease and desist” to Carlson after he posted the first episode of his new show on Twitter.
Despite this, Carlson seems to be pushing forward with his new venture, although its exact nature remains undisclosed.
