Ramaswamy, once a dark horse with just 1 percent in the polls, has surged in popularity, capturing the attention of GOP stalwarts. Trump commended Ramaswamy’s credentials, describing him as “smart,” “young,” and “very talented.” When probed about a potential vice presidential nomination for Ramaswamy, Trump lauded him for his intelligence and energy, suggesting he would be an excellent fit.
However, the former president wasn’t without reservations, warning Ramaswamy about his growing penchant for controversy. “He’s starting to get out there a little bit… I got to tell him to be a little bit careful,” Trump advised.

Despite the glowing praise from Trump, Ramaswamy has previously expressed reluctance about playing second fiddle. Speaking to NewsNation earlier, he stated, “I don’t do well in a No. 2… It’s a ‘no.’”
This election cycle isn’t short of drama. Other GOP candidates have not hesitated to voice their critiques of Ramaswamy. Former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley questioned his foreign policy experience. Mike Pence, the former Vice President, raised concerns about Ramaswamy’s age and foreign policy positions. Yet, interestingly, Pence saw a similarity between his former running mate, and Ramaswamy.
Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was particularly scathing in his criticism. Referring to Ramaswamy’s comments about Trump’s actions on Jan. 6, Christie noted Ramaswamy’s inconsistency, accusing him of saying “one thing” but acting differently.
In another comment, Christie challenged Ramaswamy’s motives, questioning, “If you believe Donald Trump was the greatest president of the 21st century… then what the hell are you doing running against him?”
