Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo has publicly advised against the use of an updated COVID-19 booster vaccine that is yet to be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

In a press conference, Ladapo raised concerns about the lack of clinical trials on humans for this new booster, stating, “There’s been no clinical trial done in human beings showing that it benefits people,” and “There’s been no clinical trial showing that it is a safe product for people.” He also suggested the updated vaccine could potentially cause cardiac injury in many individuals.

Ladapo urged people to make their own decisions based on their convictions rather than relying on external influences. He encouraged Floridians to trust their “resonance of truth” and not be swayed by “very educated people telling you what you should think.”

In addition to his stance on the new booster, Ladapo has previously criticized the use of COVID-19 masks and potential lockdowns. His comments come as mask mandates appear to be returning in some parts of the country, though Florida has banned businesses, schools, and government entities from implementing such mandates.
