The Biden administration is facing online backlash over a Pride Month flag display at the White House.
Critics are claiming that the arrangement of the flags violates the U.S. Flag Code, which mandates that the American flag should occupy the central position in any display that includes multiple flags or pennants. The controversial display was set up facing the South Lawn and included a rainbow-colored Pride flag flanked by two American flags.

Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, was one of the outspoken critics. He claimed that Biden’s display was a violation of the U.S. Flag Code and went as far as to argue that it disrespected all American service members buried under the colors of the American flag. In addition, Fitton accused the Biden administration of promoting a “revolutionary transgender agenda targeting children.”
He specifically referred to U.S. Flag Code §7. (e), which states, “The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.” The White House has not yet responded to a request for comment from Fox News Digital regarding these allegations.
Despite the brewing controversy, the flag display was a prominent feature during the White House’s Pride Month celebration on Saturday. This event was characterized by performances and speeches from representatives of LGBTQ causes. The Pride community was lauded as being “the bravest and most inspiring people,” setting an example not only for the United States but also for the entire world.
During the event, First Lady Jill Biden expressed solidarity with the attendees, acknowledging that for many of them, attending the event itself constituted an act of bravery. President Biden, in his remarks, lauded the LGBT community as some of the bravest and most inspiring people he has known. He also emphasized the importance of unity in progress, saying, “You know, we all move forward when we move together with your joy, with your pride lighting the way.”
