In celebration of Pride month, the British edition of Glamour, a women’s fashion publication, features Logan Brown, a transgender individual who identifies as a man, and is currently pregnant.
Logan Brown, who was born a woman, now identifies as a “man.” Glamour‘s cover story tells the story of Brown who became pregnant with her partner, Bailey J Mills, who identifies as a gender non-binary drag performer.
Glamour claims the couple has faced online “transphobia” as one commenter wrote “Men can’t get pregnant” across Brown’s social media platforms.
Brown also works as a residential children’s support worker, suggesting she works in a children’s group home. The experience of discovering the pregnancy was a significant moment for Brown, who recalls a peculiar sensation while Bailey was asleep one morning:
“I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I’d been off testosterone for a while due to some health issues. It was like my whole world just stopped. That everything, all my manlihood that I’ve worked hard for, for so long, just completely felt like it was erased.”
In response to those who claim that men cannot become pregnant, Brown firmly states that the notion does not change her identity. She asserts, “It’s important for me to stay real with my identity. I am a pregnant man, and I am trans.”
