A transgender influencer was banned from the White House on Tuesday after engaging in a topless photoshoot during President Biden’s Pride celebration over the weekend. The decision came in response to Rose Montoya’s breach of decorum and lack of respect, as he exposed his prosthetic breasts to the camera and the audience present at the event.
A spokesperson from the White House expressed disapproval, stating that such behavior is inappropriate and disrespectful for any gathering held at the White House. They clarified that the incident does not reflect the purpose of the event, which aimed to honor LGBTQ+ families and other attendees, and asserted that individuals involved in the incident would not be invited to future events.
Montoya, an Idaho-based model who gained fame through TikTok videos and identifies as transgender, was captured on camera flashing the audience in front of the White House, adorned with both the Pride flag and the American flag. While Montoya’s companion in the photo was also topless, she had undergone breast reduction surgery.
In the video shared on Montoya’s Instagram, the person recording the group asks, “Are we topless at the White House?” Montoya had initially interacted with President Biden, shaking hands and engaging in conversation, before proceeding with the semi-nude act. President Biden had previously expressed admiration for the resilience and inspiration of the LGBT community in his speech during the event. Montoya even managed to take a selfie with the president.
In the caption accompanying the Instagram video, Montoya expressed gratitude for attending the historic White House Pride event, where the Pride flag was raised for the first time. Montoya emphasized the importance of transgender joy and representation, celebrating being openly trans, queer, and a person of color at the White House.
