Former President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social account that he will surrender to Fulton County Jail over charges brought against him by District Attorney Fani Willis.
Trump stated: “Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History.” He clarified: “In my case, the trip to Atlanta is not for ‘Murder,’ but for making a PERFECT PHONE CALL!”

Trump asserted that Willis’s actions were politically motivated: “She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money on, this WITCH HUNT. This is in strict coordination with Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ. It is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”
The indictment, filed on August 14, accuses Trump of participating in a “conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump.” He is set to be arraigned with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and 17 others.

Trump’s legal team has agreed to a $200,000 bond. Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat confirmed that Trump will undergo the typical arrest process, which includes a mug shot.
These charges form one set out of four that Trump faces, leading to a total of 91 charges across all cases. His other indictments revolve around efforts to overturn the 2020 election, possession of classified documents, and a case related to payments allegedly made to Stormy Daniels. Notably, the arrest is scheduled a day after the first Republican primary debate, in which Trump, though the frontrunner, will not participate.
