The records, obtained by America First Legal, show that 861 emails referencing Rosemont Seneca were sent or received by the Vice President’s Office between January 2011 and December 2013. However, the White House has blocked the release of 200 additional emails, citing executive privilege.
The emails demonstrate a frequent line of communication between Hunter Biden, his business associates, and the Office of the Vice President, leveraging access to the Obama administration. Specific instances include sharing guest lists, seating arrangements, and biographies for various official events, such as state dinners with the United Kingdom, Turkey, and France.

Additional correspondences include invitations forwarded to the White House for then-Vice President Joe Biden to attend an event at the UCLA Burkle Center for International Relations and for then-second lady Jill Biden to participate in a World Food Program campaign. There are also invitations for events that Hunter Biden presumably attended or requested tickets for guests.

One email from lobbyist Doug Davenport to Eric Schwerin, Hunter Biden’s former business partner, urgently requests tickets for a White House Christmas tour. Schwerin was instructed to “check with our friends over there” and told that the only way to fulfill the request would be to get them to “the front of the line..” Subsequently, Rosemont Seneca contacts Joe Biden’s office and secures Davenport’s last-minute request as a “Big favor for Hunter.”
These revelations have led critics to argue that the Biden family blurred the lines between private business and public office. Gene Hamilton, vice president and general counsel of America First Legal, stated that the records provide further evidence of the close ties between Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and the Office of the Vice President during the Obama administration.
