Recent investigations into court filings and government records by the Daily Caller News Foundation have revealed that the recently discovered illegal biolab in Fresno County, California has substantial ties to China. The owner of the lab, Prestige Biotech Inc. (PBI), has numerous links to various Chinese pharmaceutical companies.

In mid-June, Fresno County authorities began clearing medical waste from an unregulated lab run by PBI. This lab, previously operated under the name Universal Meditech Inc. (UMI), was found to have housed over 20 potentially infectious agents, including malaria, Covid-19, and Dengue virus. Court records revealed that executives from both PBI and UMI seemingly shared identities with a Chinese pharmaceutical supplier.

Brandon Weichert, author of “Biohacked: China’s Race to Control Life,” remarked on the gravity of the situation: “The potential danger is that this is part of a larger nexus of illegal and poorly-maintained biolabs. I suspect there could be dozens — maybe even hundreds — of these labs that we don’t even know about.”

The lab has continuously failed to provide legal documents to inspectors. Joe Prado from Fresno County Public Health Department noted that addresses linked to authorized agents were either empty or unverifiable locations in China. He particularly questioned an address related to PBI’s president, Yao Xiuqin, which seemed to correlate to a supplier for UMI, Ai De Diagnostic Co. Ltd.

It is vital to note that the address in question is located in Qingdao’s “High-Tech Industrial Park,” a project backed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The park is overseen by Li Tianchuan, a staunch member of the CCP. However, the investigation couldn’t directly tie Ai De Diagnostic, UMI, or PBI to the CCP.

Furthermore, data from Qixin.com reveals that Ai De Diagnostic’s address is also linked to Ai De Biopharmaceutical Industry (Qingdao) Co. Ltd. Intriguingly, there are matching names between this firm and UMI and PBI’s leadership. Additionally, numerous companies sharing the same address have been shipping to UMI, as verified by shipment records from Import Genius.

According to SinoUS, a Chinese-language outlet, UMI was receiving medical masks from a related company in Qingdao. Another Chinese supplier, Ai De Biopharmaceutical, had also been sending shipments to UMI and started sending to PBI in Nevada in April 2023.

The harrowing conditions of the lab run by PBI and UMI have also come to light. The facility had been operating without proper licensing since October 2022. Official reports described unsanitary conditions, genetically modified mice carrying Covid-19, and improperly stored bodily fluids, including blood and multiple other infectious agents.

Prof. Peter Pitts from the Center for Medicine in the Public Interest expressed grave concern, stating: “These people are healthcare terrorists. A natural disaster or theft could pose a severe threat to countless unaware individuals, especially if these pathogens entered the local water supply.”

In response to these allegations, representatives from UMI, PBI, and the involved Chinese firms either declined to comment or remained unreachable.
