Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson (R) made headlines after a recent appearance on Fox News, making startling claims about the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic. While speaking with host Maria Bartiromo about the pandemic and vaccination efforts, Johnson insinuated that the pandemic was orchestrated by global elites during a simulation called “Event 201.”

Johnson stated, “We are going down a very dangerous path, that has been laid out and planned by an elite group of people that want to take total control over our lives.” He added, “They really risk taking away all of our sovereignty. But people have to wake up to the dangers of the moment.”

Event 201 was a simulation exercise conducted by John Hopkins, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the World Economic Forum in late 2019, only months before the pandemic began. Event 201 specifically anticipated a coronavirus pandemic with over 65 million deaths, and underscored that governments were ill-prepared for such a crisis.

Bartiromo responded with concerns about governmental collaboration with social media platforms, stating, “It is just extraordinary… the government was working with social media to amplify lies and suppress truth.” She further questioned the suppression of alternative Covid-19 treatments such as ivermectin and information on vaccine side effects.

Johnson expressed frustration at the lack of willingness among many in Congress to investigate Event 201 and what he believes to be the true origins of the Covid-19 pandemic. He also voiced concerns over vaccine safety and the reluctance of officials to acknowledge potential vaccine-related injuries or deaths.
