Billionaire philanthropist George Soros has reportedly revealed his plans should former President Donald Trump secure the Republican nomination for the 2024 presidential election. According to reports, Soros’ non-profit organization, the Open Society Institute, is preparing to shift its focus towards defeating Trump if his name appears on the ballot.

In an article for Politico, Soros’ son Alex expressed concerns about a potential MAGA-style Republican victory. He suggested that such an outcome could be detrimental to European unity and undermine progress made in response to the war in Ukraine.

Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk responded to these remarks on Twitter, arguing that peace in Eastern Europe could be seen as a threat to “progress” by those with globalist perspectives. He also highlighted Trump’s pledge to end the war and questioned Soros’ motives for interfering in the 2024 election.
The Open Society Institute reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia. The organization has reportedly contributed over $250 million to civil society groups in Ukraine since 2014.

Soros has a history of involvement in Ukrainian politics, with ties to the 2004 Orange Revolution that led to the presidency of pro-NATO candidate Viktor Yushchenko. The Soros-funded International Renaissance Foundation was confirmed to have played a role in securing the 2004 Ukrainian election.

Interestingly, Alex Soros has reportedly met with members of the Biden Administration on multiple occasions. He was hosted at the private residence of Vice President Kamala Harris, along with other top Democratic donors, according to White House visitor logs. This marks the 21st time someone from the Soros family has met with a member of the Biden Administration, according to an analysis by the Washington Free Beacon.
